11.07.2024

Stinson LLP Partner Bernadette C. Sargeant will receive the Robert A. Shuker Memorial Award, presented by the Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSA) Association for the District of Columbia at its Annual Reception and Awards Presentation.

The award recognizes a former AUSA for their significant contributions to the administration of justice while emulating the outstanding qualities of the late Judge Robert A. Shuker: integrity, scholarship, hard work, wit and an exceptional demeanor.

Sargeant is an experienced investigator and litigator, guiding clients through sensitive internal investigations and complex litigation. She handles workplace and government investigations and helps clients navigate regulatory compliance and ethics requirements. Sargeant has served as an AUSA and as counsel in the Department of Justice's Office of Professional Responsibility and to the U.S. House Ethics Committee. She serves as chair of the DC Board of Professional Responsibility and previously served as chair of the Board's Rules Committee.
