Stinson Counsels Blue Ridge Bank and Trust in Merger with First National Bank of Omaha

Press Release
10.01.2026

Stinson LLP was proud to serve as legal counsel to Blue Ridge Bancshares, Inc., and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Blue Ridge Bank and Trust Co., in their recent sale to First National of Nebraska, Inc. and merger with First National Bank of Omaha (FNBO). Founded in 1958, Blue Ridge Bank operated eight locations in Jackson County, Missouri, and was one of the leading independently owned community banks in Missouri with approximately $850 million in assets.

Partners Mike Lochmann and McGregor Johnson led the Stinson team, which also included partners Phil McKnight, Samuel Butler, Karl Phares, and Thomas Molins, along with associates Evan Murlette, Matthew Grimaldi, Mark McDermed, and Elena Humphrey.

The Blue Ridge Bank/FNBO merger brought together a leading independently owned Missouri community bank with one of the largest privately held banking companies in the United States, and expanded FNBO's Kansas City footprint into eastern Jackson County.
