Overview

Tim oversees Stinson's pro bono work across the firm's Minneapolis, DC, Phoenix, New York City, Omaha and Bismarck offices. He works alongside attorneys and paralegals throughout the firm providing technical support and counsel on all pro bono-related immigration cases. Tim also leads the Deinard Legal Clinic at the University of Minnesota's Community-University Health Care Center, the nation's oldest law firm-led medical-legal partnership.

In 2023, Tim partnered with the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota (ILCM) to create the U Visa Pro Se Project, offering limited-scope legal assistance to noncitizen victims of crime seeking immigration. This initiative earned Stinson the 2024 Pro Bono Champions of the Year Award from the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota.

Tim began his legal career at ILCM where he worked as an Equal Justice Works fellow, expanding access to immigration legal services to noncitizens in North and South Dakota. Prior to joining Stinson, Tim was managing ILCM's Pro Bono Project.
