Stinson Strengthens California Labor and Employment Practice with Addition of Amanda Laufer

Press Release
06.18.2025

Stinson LLP is pleased to welcome Amanda Laufer to the firm's Los Angeles office as an attorney in the Labor, Employment and Employee Benefits Practice Division. Laufer, who previously spent more than 12 years at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), will focus her practice on labor relations, union representation matters, internal investigations and workplace compliance.

"I am excited to join Stinson at a time of meaningful growth in California," Laufer said. "With the firm’s collaborative culture and its strong bench in labor and employment, it's a great opportunity to continue that momentum and support clients with their California employment-related needs."

At the NLRB, Laufer investigated unfair labor practice charges, conducted union elections, litigated complex labor disputes and negotiated settlements. Her regulatory background equips her with a nuanced understanding of the intersection between employer obligations and labor law enforcement. Her approach emphasizes proactive risk management and effective dispute resolution to protect clients’ interests and promote compliant work environments.

Laufer is the fourth attorney to join the recently established Century City office, following the addition of partners Ashley Fickel, Jeff Huron and Michael Wippler.

"Amanda's extensive experience on the enforcement side of labor and employment law is an invaluable asset, strengthening our ability to provide counsel and strategic insight to our clients," said Stephanie Scheck, co-chair of the Labor, Employment and Employee Benefits Practice Division. "When paired with Jeff Huron's employment litigation practice, it reinforces the firm's commitment to serve clients in California."

Laufer holds a J.D. from the University of California, Berkley, School of Law and a B.S. from Northwestern University. She is admitted to practice law in California and is bilingual in Spanish and English.
